Temporary Accommodation Registration

Today, I saw a notice posted on the door of entrance guard system when I came home. It’s that I saw such notice including English translation issued by local police station in our community at first time. the content is the following.

The Rules of Temporary Accommodation Registration
(Chinese:暂住证, Pinyin: Zanzhuzheng)
In accordance with the Rules for the Implementation of the Laws of the People’s Republic of China on Control of the Entry and Exit of Aliens(Chinese:中华人民共和国外国人入境出境管理法实施细则), Interim Measures for the Control of Chinese Citizens Traveling to or from the Regions of Hong Kong or Macao(Chinese:中国公民往来香港地区或者澳门地区的暂行管理方法), and Measures for the Control of Chinese Citizens Traveling to or fromg the Region of Taiwan(Chinese:中国公民往来台湾地区管理办法), aliens wishing to lodge at the home of a Chinese resident, at a foreign institution in China or at the home of an alien in China must register for temporary accommodation. Aliens having long-term residence in China who wish to lodge temporarily elsewhere other than their own residence, or aliens who lodge temporarily in movable living facilities should also report to the Longyuan Local Police Station(Chinese:回龙观龙园派出所) in 24 hours when an alien wishes to register temporary accommodation, he/she must provide valid passport and certification and the house owner’s residence booklet/ID card and housing property certificate or rental contract.
Tel: 80755957

If you are living in Huilongguan, just need to register temporary accommodation, and don’t know how go to Longyuan Police Station, don’t worry, look below the location.

I guess the procedure is not troublesome, but the applications that you must prepare beforehand would get you bogged down with this.

A Sudden Heavy Rain Submerge Beijing

Zhichunlu Subway Station (Chinese: 知春路城铁站), one of the worst design of stations for Beijing Subway. at least I do think so, has usually the same thing happened when it pours down with rain.

June 13, Friday, a sudden heavy rain submerge Beijing when people prepare to travel home at the rush hour. The water is as high as a car wheel, and many cars broke down on the roads. Meanwhile many people who go to and from the office by subway can’t enter the station. Look at the following photos, you should know why it would become that much worse. The enters are all designed to be below ground level and now full of water!

In factually, last year, like this serious water standing problem, have already happened once. As for the same phenomenon whether it happened the years ago, I’m not sure. But I think that the government should do something about the drainage system, otherwise, how to hold the olympics confidently?

Fan-Subtitle

Do you still buy DVDs in shops? or buy pirated DVDs from vendor in streets? Like as other countries, now the most of Chinese people choose downloading vedio file by the P2P software, such as eMule, Bitcomet etc, from the Internet to watch, though it is illegal.

Maybe you should have a question, without the official dubbing or subtitle, which made by film studios or professional companies, how can we watch the last foreign movies? In actually, the thousands upon thousands of movie fans, who understand English, Japanese etc languages, are the producer. Everyday, they spent much time to listen the soundtrack, translate into Chinese and make the subtitle, lastly they will upload to the Internet and share them, including some sites, such as shooter.cn(Chinese: 射手网), yyets.net(Chinese: 人人影视) etc that mainly provide the service for downloading subtitles. They believe the spirit of share, and called it a “fans activity”.

Yes, it is called that “Fan-Subtitles”, a visual works that feature unauthorized subtitles by “fans”. But beacuse the lack of high translation skills, Fan-Subtitle’s quality commonly is not good. With spreading widely, it seem become a big legal trouble in worldwide, though to many fans, it is very happy to devote themself to make subtitle without paying nothing.

But now, the situation has changed. On March 26, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Japan held a symposium to discuss, among other topics, overseas piracy of Japanese animation. The Tokyo Anime Center, one of the organizations involved with the Tokyo International Anime Fair, posted the following notice in Japanese, English, Chinese, and Korean at this year’s fair:

Internet Piracy
Don’ t make it! Don’ t watch it!! Don’ t download it!!!

“Fan-Subtitles” are visual works that feature unauthorized subtitles in various languages done by “fans.” Data has shown that in the United States, there have been over 6 million downloads in any given week.

In answer to this, the Copyright Network for Comic Authors in the 21st Century, The Association of Japanese Animations and the Japan Video Software Association with cooperation from relevant government ministries, have established a countermeasure council to address the issue of internet piracy with particular attention on Fansubs. The first meeting is scheduled to be held in April.

Where the future will go? I hope find a better way to solve it, wherthe to companies, or to fans.

Lastly, I want to tell a fact. Because the legally selling DVDs are too costly and less kinds in China, the most of Chinese people have to focus on the pirated edition, furthermore with P2P mode coming into vogue in currently, and the lack of common measures to solve it in worldwide. China has always became the focus of the anti-pirated movement.
